CATCHING UP!

Unfortunately, I have not been able to keep up with the podcasts of late. I am hoping that I will be back on top of them now. Here is the show from September 19th.

Dogtrane started out the show with an electrofied theme. He dropped a nice blend of Electronic Disco, some Electro, and even some Miami Bass.

On my segment I took over the Street Sounds Electro Chart duties for the week from Leeroy's The Projekt show. I played the full versions of all of the positive movers for the week.

Here is the track list for my segment:

Koova - "Click Track"

BMV - "Lefty Righty"

DJ Overdose - "Mossad Commando"

Microthol - "Binary System"

Microthol - "Fragile"

Kalson - "Like You"

J Double - "Dangerous (Supreme.Ja Remix)"

Rob Real - "Time Traveller"

Biepang - "Neon Parallels" [backing track for chart rundown]

Magnetic Bass Force - "Search & Destroy"

Dogtrane then decided to spin for an extra hour and dropped a solid set of party grooves and breaks. So this week we have a 3 hour podcast for your listening pleasure!

ENJOY!

Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, September 12th, 2009

BACK TO THE BASICS!

Once more, Dogtrane was on an excursion to Brooklyn and NYC for some crate diggin' and left me on my lonesome. Per usual he prerecorded his half of the show, this time laying down a 1 hour set of straight-up '70s Disco. The live reviews in the chatroom were rave as he laid down layer after layer of hustlin' classics that would have made the cast of Dance Fever squeal with delight!

On my segment I continued in my efforts to give light to some of the more interesting stuff that is out there on the fringes of what some people are calling Nu Electro, as well as some of the best stuff from the more mainline folds of the genre. The theme this week was doubles, as I played 2 from a few artists, including DJ Xed, an Electro Funk group from NY called Vinyl Life, and 2 unnamed tracks from a mysterious unnamed artist from the Open Concept Recordings label.

Here is the track list for my segment:

[unknown] - "[unknown]" {sneak sneak preview from OCR}
DJ Xed - "Elektro Rays"
Magnetic Bass Force - "Search & Destroy"
Q_iz - "Forever Friends"
Vinyl Life - "Hot Sauce"
Space - "Carry On, Turn Me On"
Luke Vibert - "Belief File"
Vinyl Life - "Future Beat"
DJ Xed - "Ozymatik"
Q_iz - "The Screen"
[unknown] - "[unknown]" {sneak sneak preview from OCR}

ENJOY!

END OF SUMMER LABOR DAY BASH!!!

I originally decided not to post a podcast for this week. Our show was rife with technical difficulties during the first half of our planned 4 hour, 2 podcast extravaganza. We were kicked off the air no less than 7 times, which proved to be quite frustrating. However, when we finally got rid of the gremlins about 1:40 in or so things did stabilize rather nicely.

The podcast picks up from that point. Dogtrane spinned classic Brooklyn House Party Disco. Unfortunately, due to all of the problems there was a lack of the usual party revelry as my concentration remained on keeping us on the air. Still, Dogtrane did his thing as he always does.

I then did a first for my segment of the show. I bypassed my usual presentation style and instead spinned a 2 hour set of Nu Electro in a party flow. It is something that I plan to do more of in the future. Due to this there is no track list for my segment this week, just non-stop beats!

ENJOY!

SUMMER EAZE!!!

Summertime is slippin' away and we can feel it, so we decided to put together something a little different for this week.

Dogtrane decided to hit us off with a raucous set of Garage House, in his special blend of course. There were some obscure trax, and some funky favorites as well that brought a little clamor in the chatroom.

I decided to explore the tastes, shapes and boundaries of Electro, striking such dissonant notes as Malcolm McLaren, Kraftwerk, Anthony Rother and Dark Vektor, and even venturing as far out as Electro Trip Hop and Drum & Bass. One of our most unique shows!

Here's my track list:

Malcolm McLaren & The World's Famous Supreme Team - "World's Famous"
Malcolm McLaren & The World's Famous Supreme Team - "Hobo Scratch"
Kraftwerk - "Home Computer"
Anthony Rother - "Red Light District"
Dark Vektor - "Sepre Es El Mateix"
Gosub - "Ghetto Box Live"
Luke Vibert - "Electrophy"
Visit Venus - "First Man On The Moog"
LTJ Bukem - "Rhodes To Freedom"
Dr. Schmidt - "Warning"

Next week we will be closing out the Summer with our End Of Summer Labor Day Bash! 4 hours, 2 podcasts, all dopeness!!!

ENJOY!
