Dogtrane was in Brooklyn this week so yours truly flew solo. Since I had a bit more time to stretch I decided to place a bit of emphasis on the funk while cutting across genres as usual. Started off with some Electro then some mellowed out Electro Funk Pop (or however the hell you want to categorize Zero 7) then straight into the Funky Jazz Fusion. Dogtrane mashes the hell out of some Disco, House and Nu Disco, churning the up with all kinds of left field goodies and things! I think I heard some Abba and even a little John Lennon? Dogtrane dives right into the Disco this week, but he has all sorts of other surprises up his sleeve! Excursions into and mash-ups with Freestyle, Funk and even Pop! Dogtrane sets things off with a Jackson 5 mash-up, but then morphs into a funky, hard-hitting excursion of House music. After making sure that our bodies are thoroughly jacked, he then finishes things off with a flourish of Prince. Nice set!
