Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, May 30th 2009

Dogtrane took a leave of absence and set off on a crate-digging expedition to Brooklyn this weekend and left me to my own devices.  So, I decided to do a full 2 hour Electro show!

To fill in the first hour I dropped an extraordinary Electro mix from 2004 by Volum!  It is a must hear!  I then followed with some choice cuts, emphasizing on originality and ending with 3 brand new,  exemplary, melodic Electro masterpieces, "Fragile" by Microthol on Trust, "Neon Parallels" by Biepang on Open Concept, and "Lia" by Electronic Confessions on Machinen Musik.

Oh, and I played the brand new Street Sounds Electro Chart #1, "Programmed 4 L.O.V.E." by Newcleus.  Woohooo!

Don't worry, DJ Dogtrane will be back next week with his maniacal mash-up mayhem!  Enjoy!

Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, May 23rd 2009

The Memorial Day Weekend Brooklyn Style BBQ Bash!

Well, almost. It was stormin' outside so we didn't have any BBQ, but we had beer, booze and booty bouncin' beats!

Dogtrane went on a mash-up rampage, accented with plenty of dope scratches and blends!  The chatroom was buzzin' as he worked his unique style of magic on tracks as dissonant as Captain Sky to Flava Flav to Michael Jackson to Monty Python!  I even dropped a few lines of age old '70s Brooklyn flavor rhymes as he cut up Super Sporm!  Another blazin' set!

I followed with a solid bumpin' hour of hard hittin' Electro and smooth single malt scotch.  I dropped hard beats like Dr. Schmidt's "Engines Of God" and Dark Vektor's "Wires" without droppin a drop of The Glenlivet, adding in two monster new pre-release tracks from the Open Concept label, "Magnolia" by Carl Finlow and the jazzy, eccentric "Neon Parallels" by Biepang (which I erroneously attributed to Inspector, scotch in full effect).  I finished up with before and after versions of "Automan", thus adding that final Jam-On touch.

Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, May 16th 2009

This was our best show yet!

Dogtrane rocked a completely stupendous set, full of mash-ups, classic break beats, Funk, Disco, the boy went off! Loaded with dope scratches and blends, The Dog tore up his 1200s using vinyl, Serato AND Traktor DJ! Unbelievable set!

I then followed up with yet another rockin' hour of Electro, dropping a bit of Aux 88, Sace 2, Kraftwerk, the hella funky Zak B cut and hella funky DJ Diplomat megamix from the hella funky Street Sounds Nu Electro compilation, and a 4 song Newcleus block featuring 3 unreleased gems and one seldom played classic! Definitely one for your ipod!!!

Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, May 9th 2009

This week's show went smooth as butter!

Dogtrane gave us an hour long journey through classic Hip-Hop jams and the original grooves that they sampled! The range was impressive, from Michael Jackson at one extreme to The Partridge Family at the other. Quite a fun set!

I then followed with another solid hour of Electro, featuring standouts from the amazing Street Sounds Nu Electro compilation, an unreleased, unfinished gem by yours truly, and even an exclusive instrumental mix of the latest Newcleus release "Programmed 4 L.O.V.E.". Listen in on the podcast to get the where and how of obtaining a limited mp3 of this baby!.

Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, May 2nd 2009

Show #2 went off without a hitch!  Only in our 2nd week and it looks like we've hit our stride again!

Dogtrane was back in form, cutting, scratching, mashing and mixing up an hour of booty shakin' goodies!  I followed with a solid hour of Electro (with a sprinkle of Drum & Bass) including unreleased gems by The Breakniks and Technopheliak.  We even went long (something we may be doing often) and threw in another bonus 20 minutes or so from Dogtrane.

Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, April 25th 2009

This is our inaugural show!  We had a bit of technical difficulties getting started so it's only about 1:40 long.

Dogtrane laid down a 1 hour live master mix with lots of Disco, House and Electro wit a few mash-ups thrown in for good measure.  Then I rounded out the last 40 minutes with an eclectic Electro vibe.

The Groove has begun!!!
